Featherweight Fact
The newest Featherweight is 42 years old and the oldest are 77 years old.  I marvel at the fact that I spent 40 years as a mechanical designer for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC and I was often tasked with designing a mechanism that would work hundreds or thousands of times, but never was I asked to design something to last 50 or 75 years.  Yet, we have the Singer 221 and 222K Featherweight sewing machines which have withstood that test of time and are still considered the perfect machine for the modern quilter.  The Featherweight that has sat in a barn for the last fifty years or the one that has been loved and cared for by multiple generations of the same family share a common bond.  With a good cleaning, oil, lube and adjustment, they can both make that same cherished perfect stitch time after time.

My intent with this website is to provide a group of everyday working Featherweights for the serious quilter who is not concerned about the number of pin marks or a few scratches  and another group that is aimed at the quilter with a desire for a nicer looking quilting Featherweight or the Featherweight collector.  I will label my listing with either 'Everyday Quilter' or 'Fine Quilter / Collector'.  Keep in mind that they all make the same perfect stitch and they are all backed my my One Year Warranty as described below.

My 221's and 222K's come with a one year warranty.  If for any reason your Featherweight fails to provide that perfect Featherweight Stitch, you pay to ship the machine to me and I will repair it and pay to ship the machine back to you.

I am unable to show all my Featherweights on the website and in addition to those featured, I have over 30 more available.  Email me and tell me what you are looking for and let me supply you with pictures of several Featherweighs that match your request.

Singer introduced the Featherweight 221 in 1933 and continued to produce the same basic machine up until 1968. Quilters the world over have come to crave the Featherweight for the perfect stitch that it can produce again and again. Simple in design and function, this is one machine that has withstood the test of time.
